Protect Local Medical Clinics

Highbridge & Burnham-On-Sea

Responding to the recent reorganisation announced by Symphony Healthcare, Cllr Barbara Vickers has called on the local medical centre to give a clear answer on whether essential clinics and appointment slots— such as those for diabetes and other ongoing health needs — will remain at the same level in our community following the proposed merger.

Patients in Burnham-On-Sea & Highbridge rely on these services for accessible, timely care. A reduction in their availability in either of the two locations would mean many residents, particularly those with mobility issues or limited transport options, would have to travel further or wait longer for vital treatment and check ups

Barbara proposed the town council write to the centre requesting urgent clarification so residents can be reassured their access to healthcare will not be compromised, which was agreed unanimously.

We believe access to essential clinics should never be put at risk.
