Local champion Laura Chalmers is stepping forward with a powerful and positive campaign focused on real results and an ambitious vision for the future. Under the banner “A Record of Action — Promise of More,”

Laura is building momentum across the community by putting people first and delivering change where it matters most.

As a resident and committed local advocate, Laura has built a reputation for rolling up her sleeves and getting things done. From championing accessibility at Highbridge & Burnham train station to standing up for mental health support and ensuring the new electric busses are fully accessible and up to standard, all while having a deep understanding of the everyday challenges facing local people, her track record speaks for itself.

“I’m not here to make empty promises,” said Laura. “I’m here because this community deserves someone who listens, takes action, and follows through. That’s exactly what I’ve done — and will continue to do.”

Laura’s campaign highlights her proven ability to bring people together and solve local issues — not just talk about them. Her work with local groups, and town council has already made a visible impact, whether it's tackling anti-social behaviour or demanding better services in Somerset.

But Laura’s not stopping there.

“This is only the beginning,” she says. “Together, we can build a fairer, greener, more inclusive community. I’ve got a record of action — and a promise to do even more.”

With her feet firmly rooted in the community, and a clear, hopeful vision for the future, Laura Chalmers is setting a new standard for what local leadership looks like.
