Cllr Ganesh Gudka Welcomes Our Town's Walking and Cycling Plan

Cllr Ganesh Gudka, of Highbridge & Burnham-On-Sea (Burnham Central ward), has expressed his enthusiasm following the publication of the Local Cycling and Walking Infrastructure Plan (LCWIP).
“We have been working at this for a long time,” said Cllr Gudka. “The LCWIP has been a key aspect of our ambition to support healthier, less costly and greener ways of moving around our town. Hopefully one day most people will be happy to leave their car at home to travel the tiny distances across the town, save money and avoid stress.”
While celebrating the release of the plan, Cllr Gudka also acknowledged the work ahead and the need for community involvement.
“The publication of the plan is just the start of the journey as the hard work to fund and implement these ideas with Somerset Council starts now. But I am delighted that we have taken the first step along the road.”
“The next steps will be to prioritise the routes and improvements the community really wants to see. Talking to Somerset Officers, I understand they are more likely to get behind a project that comes from people who are trying to help themselves and show real support for an improvement.”
The LCWIP represents a shared vision for a more accessible, sustainable, and people-friendly transport future — one where community voices will play a central role.
