Residents are invited by the Burnham-On-Sea & Highbridge Town Council, lead by Lib Dem Councillor Lesley Millard, to a public drop-in session following the recent accessibility meeting to discuss the future of Highbridge train station. This informal event offers an opportunity to speak directly with the Highbridge Train Station Accessibility Group, local councillors, and representatives from Our Highbridge, the community interest group working to support and improve the town.

Cllr Lesley Millard and Lib Dem activists in Highbridge & Burnham, have been campaigning for better access to Highbridge Station, noting that users with accessibility needs struggle to reach the platforms easily. At present, the only infrastructure is a footbridge, while the only fully accessible alternative requires travelling the long way around via the Walrow or Market Street bridge.

Attendees will be able to review current plans, share ideas, and contribute to future ambitions for creating a more accessible and welcoming station for all. The session is designed to ensure the community’s voice helps shape long-term improvements in accessibility and transport connectivity across Highbridge.
